These are adoption resources I found during my own research. Unfortunately, I didn’t know what to look for prior to my daughter relinquishing, so while these groups and articles validated how we felt after my daughter relinquished her daughter they were found too late to help our daughter make an informed decision regarding her daughters future.
If you are considering adoption, please research before you make your decision. Adoption is a lifetime solution for a temporary issue. Take time to make your decision. If at all possible, talk to someone who is not involved in your situation in any way. Preferably, an unbiased third-party who is experienced in the loss and grief felt by adoptees and first/birth parents and their families. You should understand, though, you are not likely to find many professionals experienced with either of these types of losses. That is why I’ve attached these pages. Your next best option is to consult with those who have personally experienced that loss both from the child’s perspective and the mother and fathers perspective.
